directors which administers the State Compensation Insurance Fund.

2081 – Coto: Workers' compensation: Prohibits
an officer or director holding less than 10% of the shares of the
corporation from excluding himself or herself from workers'
compensation coverage required to be provided to other employees of the
corporation. It also provides that if an officer or director holds more
than 10% of the shares of the corporation, the employer shall have the
burden of proof of demonstrating that an exclusion of that officer or
director from workers' compensation coverage is appropriate.

medical treatment utilization reviews: This bill would require that, in
cases where the review is retrospective, the decision to modify, delay,
or deny services be communicated to the individual who received
services, or to the individual's designee, within 30 working days of
receipt of information that is reasonably necessary to make this
determination. |

compensation costs by requiring employers to provide injured workers
with supplemental job displacement vouchers before having all the
information required to calculate the benefit. |

treatment: pre-designation of physician: Would allow employees
receiving treatment regarding a workers' comp case to keep seeing their
own personal physician. |

compensation: permanent partial disability benefits. To delete from law
a provision designed to provide an incentive to get injured employees
back to work with their employer, which incentive is seen to be
ineffective. Also to increase the number of weeks of indemnity payments
for the range of percentages of permanent partial disability ratings. |
